Gig List – April

Here comes the sun (do do doo do) and it’s April!
Clocks go back (or forward? either way it’s caused a sleepless week), the sun is out for longer and it generally puts everybody in a much better mood.
These are a few gigs this month that have tickled our fancy:

Treefight For Sunlight – Hoxton Bar And Kitchen tickets
These Danish boys are the definition of sunshine rock. Lush harmonies and brilliant psychedelic tendencies, the self-titled album came out in February on Bella Union.

Lykke Li/Sarah Blasko – Shepherds Bush Empire tickets
The Swedish songstress graces our shores with her brilliant new album ‘Wounded Rhymes’ that came in out March. Support comes from the terrific Sarah Blasko.

The Xcerts/My First Tooth – Barfly tickets
The Xcerts return to the Barfly for what seems like the hundredth time, a firm favourite venue for the Scottish outfit. My First Tooth also bring along their bubbling folk-pop as they set off on a little UK adventure.

Banjo Or Freakout – The Macbeth free!
The immersive sounds of Banjo Or Freakout come to the Macbeth for an ambient-pop evening that will be utterly engrossing. The dreamy, floating sounds of the self-titled album came out in March.

Friska Viljor – Bush Hall tickets
You’ll see these boys pop up on the TWDTWC news in the coming weeks. A tremendous album on the way out and a cheeky chat with the Swedish outfit, do go see them, they’re lovely.

Best Coast – KOKO tickets
What more could you want as April draws to a close? This West Coast trio epitomise summer and as we look to May for sun, festivals, BBQ’s…you didn’t really want to watch the Royal Wedding anyway, did you?

What more do you want? Go go go!
